Beyond the Pages: Meet Heather

I'm Heather Cornelius, author of The Perfect Victim and the woman behind Heather Celena.

I've loved writing for as long as I can remember. From attending a Young Authors Conference as a child to enjoying every writing assignment throughout school and college, storytelling has always been part of who I am. What I never imagined was that my first published book would tell my own life story.

I'm a mother, a domestic violence survivor, and a woman who has discovered that finding your voice can open doors you never expected.

Writing The Perfect Victim was about more than documenting my experiences. I wanted to create a compelling book that people would genuinely want to read while offering an honest look at the realities of domestic violence and survival.

Now, I'm looking beyond the pages.

My vision is to share my experiences through speaking engagements, educational conversations, survivor awareness and media opportunities. I hope to connect with women's organizations, military communities, schools, colleges and others who believe that meaningful conversations can help create safer communities.

I don't believe my experiences define everything about me. They're part of my story, but so are my humor, determination, love of writing and excitement about everything still ahead.

My goal is simple: to use my voice, encourage important conversations and help keep a light on for someone who may need it.

Because surviving is part of my story. What comes next is mine to write.
